Lunch Battle

Remembering how horrible school lunch tasted way back when, I don't want to waste money on food Brianna wouldn't like to eat, not to mention the quality or lack there of.  Despite her begging to get lunch at school like most of her friends, I insist on packing her lunch.  These are the same lunches I sent her to preschool with that made her teachers envious of her meals and the lunch bag always came home empty.  Much to my disappointment, on any given day, she will come home with at least 1/2 of her lunch unconsumed.  I know part of it is the limited time (30 minutes is not very long for us slow eaters) plus the socialization that takes place in the school lunch room.  Now I am looking into learning more about bento lunches.  Maybe more variety and fun shapes will get her excited about bringing her own lunch.  I also found a blog featuring Lunch Punches for making cool sandwich shapes.  Check out the give away thru 12/9/11! 

Fall Goals

Well, I had been so eager to make some final decisions so that I may just sit down and sew however, I haven't sewn anything in at least 2 weeks. This week I have some goals to get accomplished so that I can go back to sewing without things hanging over my head:

1. Demolish Pantry.
2. Sort/wash/hang baby clothes to take to consignment store.
3. Insulate & re-sheet rock pantry.
4. Enjoy 2 days with Derrick while Brianna spends time with her aunt & cousins.

The Beginning

Wow!!  Here it is - The Beginning.  A summer worth of thinking, planning, researching and disagreements but now fall is almost here and the ball is rolling.  Today, the name came to me: Gathered Dreams - what I will call my etsy shop.  My business.  My new baby.  
You see, life has been crazy this year between graduating college, job hunting and my baby starting kindergarten so I figured - why not try to start a small business too?  Here I am venturing into the unknown and very excited to see what is out there...Let's see where this journey leads us.
